If you are using many folders and public folders to store information on your exchange server you can cut down the amount of time it takes you to get to your most used folders by using Outlook shortcuts. Click on the shortcuts icon on the bottom of your folders list in outlook 2003 or outlook 2007.
By default it will start with a blank list of shortcuts except for Outlook today. I never use outlook today, it is slow and unnecessary.-
